Accessing Automatic Supply-to-Production

Use

The application for automatic supply-to-production is found in the ERP System using SAP for Automotive. Although, as standard, you can use the requirements and backflushing data from SAP APO, you only work with the automatic supply-to-production function in the ERP System.

You access the initial screen by choosing Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Logistics Execution Next navigation step JIT Outbound Next navigation step Summarized JIT Call Next navigation step Supply-to-Production Table End of the navigation path (Transaction S2L).

Here, you determine the supply segments you want to process.

You also determine whether you want to display the supply segments in a line-oriented display or in a plant/storage location/supply area-oriented display.

Note Note

If you access automatic supply-to-production using a line structure, the system lists all the supply areas assigned to this line. The system uses the supply areas to determine the control cycles. Here, the system does not check whether the respective component is actually assembled at the line.

End of the note.

Features

In the initial screen, you can choose the line structure for which you want to execute automatic supply-to-production. Using additional selection criteria such as plant, supply area, material, storage location or control cycle number , you can limit the number of supply segments in the display further.

You can define whether you want to use supply-to-production in either display or in change mode (if necessary, with replenishment proposals) or whether you want the system to create a print list.

Note Note

Accessing automatic supply-to-production in change mode automatically locks the control cycles included in your selection. Consequently, these control cycles cannot then be planned in any background jobs. This situation can be avoided by accessing the automatic supply-to-production in display mode.

End of the note.

In the group box, Planning Horizon , you can define whether you want to override the planning horizon of a control cycle. If you set the indicator Override Planning Horizon , you can then define a new planning horizon.

Global Settings

In the global settings, you make the settings for the log , the navigation tree and for planning.

In the Planning tab page, you define which control cycle categories are to be considered in automatic supply-to-production. In the Further Settings group box, you define whether you want to work with exact stocks per reporting point or per takt.

For more information, see also Exact Stock per Reporting Point versus Exact Stock per Takt and Supply-to-Production Table .

You also define whether you can create replenishment proposals in the supply-to-production table for supply segments based on manually created summarized JIT calls.

And you specify whether you want to work with a self-defined selection horizon. For more information, see also Selection Horizon .

On the Dialog tab page, you define the settings for the navigation tree and specify whether or not the planning elements are to be grouped. For more information, see Grouping Planning Elements .

You can save these global settings per user by choosing . The next time you access transaction S2L, your settings will be used automatically without having to redefine them in Global Settings first. To delete your user-specific settings, choose .

Variants of the Initial Screen

Using this function, you can create and save any variants you use repeatedly for accessing the supply-to-production table. Using these report variants, the system displays the data for one particular material only, for example, or it displays one particular supply segment. You can use this function if you want to execute automatic supply-to-production regularly using the same selection.

Note Note

In the individual report variants, the system also saves the settings you defined under Global Settings .
